Amazon.com Product Description
Tired of tents that promise a quick setup, but still have you puzzling over the shock-corded poles 10 minutes in? Turn to the Coleman eight-person Instant Tent, which assembles and collapses in one minute or less. The secret to the tent's seamless setup is the pole system, which comes pre-attached to the tent. As a result, assembly couldn't be easier: just unfold the tent, spread it out, extend the poles, click them together, and lock them into place. Before you know it, you'll have a full two-room tent that stands 14 by 10 feet, with a center height of 6 feet 5 inches.

The Coleman Instant Tent sets up and collapses in 1 minute or less.
Despite the tent's versatility, it's still as strong and weatherproof as ever, with Coleman's exclusive WeatherTec system helping protect you from inclement weather and nasty storms. WeatherTec tents are built with a coated polyester fabric combined with anti-wicking thread, webbing, and zippers, all designed to keep you dry when the rain comes down. The tent's welded waterproof floor and inverted floor seams, meanwhile, dramatically increase the water resistance by hiding the needle holes inside the tent and away from the elements. And campers will love the strong, wind-responsive frame, which includes redesigned poles and guy-out triangles that anchor the tents and increase performance. In fact, Coleman is so confident in its WeatherTec system that it exposes its WeatherTec tents to a rain room that simulates nasty downpours, and to a wind machine capable of blowing hurricane force gusts. The results? Even after the tests, Coleman guarantees its WeatherTec tents will keep you dry.

The tent's exterior is tough and long-lasting, with heavy-duty 150D construction that's twice as thick as Coleman's standard tent fabric. When combined with the fully taped rain fly seams, the tent can even keep you dry without requiring a separate rain fly. The tent also offers ample room for sleeping or hanging out. Campers have their choice of sleeping in one large room with enough space for eight people, or dropping down the divider and turning the tent into a two-room palace. And hot nights will seem far more refreshing thanks to the two doors and seven windows, which provide terrific ventilation and 360-degree views. Other features include vertical walls that make it easy to stand and move about the tent, an interior gear pocket, reverse angle windows, and easy-to-follow instructions sewn into the durable carrying bag. The tent carries a limited one-year warranty.

The tent boasts a roomy interior with sleeping space for up to 8 people.

About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.

In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome tent   June 16, 2010

This tent is exactly what I was looking for. It sets up in less than 5 mins and is roomy as hell. I love being able to open up all the windows for a screen house effect. The tent also packs up pretty good too. The bag supplied is ample and extra straps are supplied. What I don't like about the tent is for the size of the tent I was expecting more storage room to hold things, more pockets and compartments. It also lacks access holes to the outside. I used my tent in the rain and it held up without any leaks. One other dislike I have is the strength of the poles I feel the poles should be a tad bit thicker. I look forward to many years with this tent.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent family tent - very easy to put up and down   July 13, 2010

I used this for the first time for a camping trip in Vermont. It took myself and my 14 year niece about two minutes to put up. It was so easy that I thought I missed something. It goes down just as quickly. It is very spacious. My nine month daughter loved crawling around inside. It did rain whilst away and inside stayed dry. Although there were a few spots where leaks occurred. These were around the inside pockets and dividers. I've sealed the seams when we got back for extra protections. It also went back into the bag with ease. An excellent tent.

I'm using my wifes computer my name is Rex.I have been looking for the right tent for many months. I take 12 to 14 people camping at a time so set up and especially take down ease is very important, when providing for that many.I'll need at least 3 more of these instant tents, and look forward to buying them. Allot of bang for the buck. I have not yet waterproofed this tent and was some what worried about the rain. I have yet to go camping, without it raining. I have 5 tents and it was the dryest, with no rainfly, thats really cool. Wind blew hard and I had some fear as to how it would hold up. The tiedowns worked fine. One problem is when you take down the ceiling rods, some seem to stick, what I have so far found out, is if you twist the ceiling rods a little left and right they collaps right away. I don't know about long term how well it will hold up. I'll know next year. Room to walk is great and we actually used 3 twin on one side and they were oversize a little but worked.Any 8 man tent is only a 4 man tent for me with 4 airbeds and room. I can put 5 twins and it actually worked with 2 in the front to walk around.Set up and tear down time is crutial for me. I don't know about the 1 minute thing it seem to take a few to take down and pack:)in closing, this is so far the best tent I have found for a guy like me to have, really do hope they hold up.Last but not least no rain fly, to put on and take down thats a big deal and it's the coolest tent I have, with all the windows available during the day.Sure hope it holds up!

This tent goes up and down very easily....and in less than 60 seconds!!! It is nice having all the windows for great ventilation and view. We didn't get a chance to spray any waterproofing on the tent prior to using it and it poured on us a couple of times, not a single leak. We are very satisfied with this tent and happy we made this choice.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Tent, worth the money!   August 6, 2010

We are new to camping and we have bought several tents this summer and taken them back, that will not hold up to West Texas and Eastern New Mexico, winds much less storms and were truly pains to set up. They would break, I mean poles would snap. Not these tents, steal poles that snap into place and the tent is up in minutes. Love them! Bought 3. They withstand storms, wind and rain that was ankle deep on the ground... none inside except a very little at a couple of the seams up high, but we have since sealed all the seams just because 60 mph wind blown rain tends test the great seams. We looked at quick set or instant tents that were over $500.00 each... these at $200.00 each are well worth the money no need to overspend.
